Laser ectopic ureter correction is a minimally invasive surgery used to restore proper flow of urine to the bladder in patients suffering from ectopic ureters and incontinence.
A lighted instrument with a camera on the end called a cystoscope is used to diagnose and treat the problem simultaneously. The excess tissue is removed and the flow of urine is directed back into the bladder.
No external incisions are required. General anesthesia is necessary for this surgery. Most pets gain urinary continence within a few days following this procedure.
