A colonoscopy is a minimally invasive examination of the inside of your pet’s large intestine (rectum and colon). A lighted, flexible instrument with a camera on the end called a colonoscope is used to help find ulcers, colon polyps, tumors, and areas of inflammation or bleeding. No external incisions are required. Anesthesia is necessary to perform this examination, but is often very short.
